Establish Realistic & Achievable Goals
When you are able to effectively set realistic and achievable goals, it allows you to be more hopeful and looking forward to future positivity.
Being able to have achievable and realistic goals helps you to build resilience as well professionally and personally.
E
Strategies
It is important to set a plan for coping strategies. Creating effective strategies in preparation of setting your goals as well as finding ways to deal with adversities are important things to do when building resilience.
It is also important to explore tools that will help you when there is help needed such as a mentor, books, or training courses etc.
S
Identify
When building resilience, it is important to identify your strengths and to become or maintain confidence with yourself.
Sometimes we may lose sight of our strengths due to negative thinking or a lack of giving ourselves credit for our strengths etc.
Staying focused on our strengths is designed to be a reminder of our talents which helps us feel more secure etc. when it comes to building resilience.

Learn From Experiences
Learning from experiences is key when developing resilience as a part of growing and developing personally and professionally.
Most people tend to look at when we experience as a bad thing but is that really true?
What if instead you look at failures that you experience as learning lessons?
Your perspective on how you view experiences is essential when it comes to building resilience so why not look at failed experiences as learning lessons?
If you experience a situation that is not pleasant, try to find the learning lesson in it, analyze the mistake, and simply move on with a better game plan that will help avoid that same mistake in the future.
L
Introduce
Introducing a new positive outlook on life and every experience in it is key when it comes to creating and developing resilience in your life.
It is about seeing the good within the bad when adversity comes.
This concept is about being intentional with how you think on a daily basis.
Everything that we do and how we handle and see things all come from a choice. The greatest gift that was given by God is free will.
We can choose to see things from a positive perspective. We can choose to focus on positive thoughts in order to be more optimistic instead of pessimistic. We can choose to be focused on The Now and feel good now no matter what chaos is going on around us. This is why meditation is so important.
So how are you intentionally using your thoughts and the words that you speak on a daily basis?

Enjoy
It is important to do the things that you enjoy in order to build resilience in your life.
We tend to get so caught up with the daily grind of working and dealing with the everyday routine that sometimes we may neglect the things that we enjoy from time to time.
Sometimes the big things that we enjoy we may not get to do as often such as a vacation etc.
However, we can still strive to enjoy the small things that we can do often on a daily or at least weekly or monthly basis.
For example, you can treat yourself to a nice meal at your favorite restaurant or takeout, get a massage, go to a movie or do something you enjoy, sign up for a yoga class or something of interest that you enjoy, go for a nice walk, take a day off to relax, or go shop for something nice for yourself etc.
These are just a few examples but of course it is important to focus on what things you enjoy and how often you would like to intentionally implement those activities into your schedule to help build resilience in your life.
E
Needs
What are your needs? Knowing your needs not only on a daily basis, but weekly and monthly is important in order to build resilience as well.
Being intentional with being aware and mindful of your needs is important in order to create a plan to implement your needs into your daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
For example, if you have the ability to create your own schedule, what times are you at your best?
Are you more alert in the afternoons and you do not consider yourself to be a morning person? If so, then you know you would need to create a schedule that works best with your peak times.
Knowing your needs in every area of your life allows you to intentionally prepare in advance to choose better ways for you to be more resilient.
N
Connect
It is important to stay connected with others including family and friends that will help with maintaining resilience in your life.
Maintaining healthy connections is key and can help eliminate stress.
If there are connections in your life with others that are not considered to be healthy then it is important to use these resilience steps to help determine how to improve them if necessary.
For example, after analyzing these tips and you still may have issues with maintaining a healthy relationship with some people, then you may want to use your discernment to determine if those relationships are worth pursuing.
Some connections are meant for a season in your life no matter if it is a family member, co-worker or boss, or a friend etc. Being able to discern if letting go of certain connections for your well being is key when it comes to building resilience in your life.
C
Embrace Change
Too often most people try to hold on the past instead of embracing change. Embracing change rather than resisting in cases where it is positive is essential when it comes to developing resilience.
Is there something in your life that you are struggling with letting go of? This could be a situation that happened such as an event or a person or simply something in your current situation etc.
Most tend to focus on what they “should” do instead of what they “must” do in order to lead to embrace positive change.
Most people are aware of what they “need” to do in order to become more resilient. The problem is that in most cases as long as you are aware of what you “need” to do and you label those things as what you” should” do, it usually is not enough motivation.
Until you get to a place of “wanting” to do what needs to be done is the first step towards being more motivated and inspired to change.
